Having a parent with cancer can be a lonely, isolating experience. Pickles Group creates thriving communities of kids supporting kids whose parents have cancer. Pickles kids strengthen resilience, have fun with friends who get them, and heal along the way.
Pickles Group’s mission is to provide free peer-to-peer support and resources to kids and teens impacted by their parent cancer. Pickles Group creates thriving communities of kids supporting kids through and beyond their parent’s cancer. Pickles kids strengthen resilience, have fun with friends who get them, and heal along the way. Programs are designed by a leading therapist and Child Life Specialist and facilitated by trained volunteers. Pickles’ approach is grounded in behavioral science and research that shows that kids are more likely to thrive through their parent’s cancer when provided with three things:
Groups facilitated by a child therapist and child life specialist.
Pickles serves school-aged kids and teens enrolled in 1st through 12th grade, between the ages of 6-18. Programming is offered virtually. Families can enroll in our programs here. For our Chicago-based families, we host 4 signature in-person events per year in the Chicagoland area.
