Development Campaign Manager

The American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) is a steadfast advocate on behalf of the brain tumor community where we help patients, caregivers and their loved ones. Our mission is to advance the understanding and treatment of brain tumors with the goals of improving, extending and, ultimately, saving the lives of those impacted by a brain tumor diagnosis.

As the Development Campaign Manager you will oversee Fundraise Your Way, the American Brain Tumor Association’s (ABTA’s) 3rd party fundraising program, Team ABTA, and the ABTA’s endurance event program. The Development Campaign Manager will have exceptional customer service skills and serve as a team player, dedicated to meeting and exceeding fundraising revenue goals and further advancing the mission of the ABTA.

How You’ll Serve Our Organization

  • Oversee all aspects of Fundraise Your Way and Team ABTA campaigns and its various revenue avenues.
  • Ensure revenue goals are attained by partnering with ABTA leadership to identify, recruit, manage and steward fundraising volunteers.
  • Identify, cultivate and steward campaign volunteers/donors/participants by developing and implementing campaign appropriate strategies and relationship cultivation activities for successful recruitment, acknowledgement and retention of volunteers/donors/participants.
  • Manage and adhere to campaign timelines and budgets by tracking revenue and expenses associated with campaign.
  • Provide input into the development of a strategic plan for the campaign, including fundraising goals, budget recommendations and timelines.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the on-going campaign(s), including community engagement, volunteer satisfaction and overall success of the campaign(s).
  • Develop positive fundraising volunteer interactions through recruitment, mentoring, and providing comprehensive support for volunteer leadership and participants to develop and achieve personal fundraising plans, while focusing on the mission of ABTA.
  • Identify and network with corporations, community groups, schools, and key donors to engage their support in ABTA fundraising campaign(s).
  • Work with marketing to develop marketing materials (brochures, recruitment, promotional flyers, pledge forms, etc.) to promote the campaign(s).
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the ABTA’s mission and programs to promote the ABTA’s fundraising, research, and patient initiatives.
  • Represent ABTA at volunteer fundraising events with up to 25% travel, as needed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What We Ask For

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2+ years of nonprofit experience, with an emphasis on fundraising and customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Self-motivated, organized and willing to help with any project large or small
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with varying timelines and deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, participants and other supporters
  • High degree of creativity, responsibility, initiative, and professionalism
  • Ability to function as a dependable project manager and team player
  • Preferred experience with program related software including, but not limited to: Salesforce, Classy, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Required work evenings and weekends as necessary
