With the molecular make-up of cancer cells emerging as a new pathway to combat cancer, tumor tissue testing will become critical to determining effective treatment approaches. While there are a variety of tests to determine the molecular make-up of a tumor, testing is not required nor standardized for brain tumors. With the emergence of tumor agnostic drug development, look for tumor tissue testing to become an important topic within the brain tumor community.
