The American Brain Tumor Association hosts its inaugural Breakthrough for Brain Tumors Tampa 5K Run & Walk on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa, FL.
Proceeds from the event support the ABTA’s support services and programs for brain tumor patients and their families and vital funding of brain tumor research.
The event kicks off a year-long nationwide expansion of the Breakthrough for Brain Tumors 5K Run & Walk events.
“In every city, we hear stories of courage and commitment from brain tumor patients and their families,” notes ABTA President and CEO Elizabeth M. Wilson. “We consider it a privilege to be coming together with families all across the nation to bring greater awareness to this devastating disease and the need for research breakthroughs while at the same time recognizing and honoring the incredible breakthroughs these individuals make in their own lives every day.”
