When I was 9 years old, I was having trouble in school and having some headaches. In October 2000 my pediatrician ordered a test (CT scan) that looks into my head. Then she told us I had a brain tumor and had to go to the hospital. That was scary. I had my first surgery which was twelve hours. The kind of brain tumor I have is called meningioma. My second surgery (which took eight hours) was in December 2000. This time they had to shave all of my hair off. After that, a small amount of tumor was left. Then I had radiation for six weeks. I had to stay still. Radiation therapists and nurses helped me. I went to school half days during treatment. The kids were pretty nice to me. Now I am in sixth grade and I bet you I have the nicest teachers, and I go all day. I do everything except for gym, which I am going to start soon. I have a couple headaches now but I feel pretty good.
