ABTA Discovery Grants
The American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) is now accepting Letters of Intent for the 2011 Discovery Grant research program. These awards support high risk/high impact projects that have the potential to change current diagnostic or treatment paradigms for either adult or pediatric brain tumors. Discovery driven science and proof of concept studies are encouraged.
This pilot program offers up to one-year grants not to exceed $50,000 each in direct costs. Investigators from sciences outside traditional tumor biology fields are encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to proposals addressing underfunded areas of brain tumor research. To invite diversity of topic and discovery, "underfunded” is left undefined for this pilot program, but must be defended in the letter of intent. Of particular interest for this round of funding are proposals into oligodendroglioma, but other research topics are also invited.
