The Continuum of Care

After you receive your brain tumor diagnosis, you will likely have many questions about what comes next, your options, and how you can effectively cope with the physical and emotional challenges ahead. When you get the answers you’re seeking, you will begin to feel more confident about making informed decisions.

At first, your questions may focus on your brain tumor type and its treatment. In time, you may also have other concerns about ongoing care and recovery. At each step, we encourage you to identify your specific issues and look to us, in addition to your medical care team, for information and support.

You are not alone. Our resources, licensed health care professionals, research, and community of patients, survivors, and caregivers can help. We understand the complexities and can help you on this journey.

This section will take you through each step of the spectrum of care for brain tumors. We will tell you about the brain tumor diagnosis process and what to expect. You can learn the basics about treatment options, rehabilitation and different forms of therapy, such as physical therapy and occupational therapy, as well as more specific topics, such as speech pathology, art therapy and recreational therapy. You will be able to find out about advanced care planning and palliative care and discover the facts about hospice care, should it become necessary.
