Taking on the role of caregiver for a loved one with a brain tumor is something that you may not have expected. Your new role comes with many responsibilities that can challenge a caregiver in ways never imagined.

As a caregiver you will need to become an expert not only in attending to a patient’s physical needs, but also in managing the details and communication with doctors, pharmacists, insurance companies, employers and others.  Each caregivers needs and experience are different. You may be a parent taking care of a child, a child taking care of a parent, or taking care of your spouse or partner. No matter what your situation, you will have needs as a caregiver, just as your loved one has needs as well.

The ABTA is here to help you meet those needs and understand and cope with your role as a caregiver. If you have any questions, our Care Consultants are available through our CareLine at 800-886-ABTA (2282) or by email at abtacares@abta.org.
