Santa Bear Anthony Adams Brings Joy to Pediatric Brain Tumor Patients

10th Annual American Brain Tumor Association Kids’ Holiday Luncheon Held on Dec. 17

On Wednesday, December 17th, the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) hosted its 10th Annual Holiday Luncheon for pediatric brain tumor patients and their siblings at the Wyndham O’Hare in Rosemont.  Chicago Bears defensive tackle Anthony Adams #95 dressed up as Santa Claus and handed out toys to more than 60 children.

“This event brings tremendous joy to local children living with a brain tumor, as well as their families,” said American Brain Tumor Association  Executive Director Elizabeth M. Wilson.

This year’s event was made possible through generous support from: BrainLab, Projects of the Heart and The Tyler Volenec Foundation.

Founded in Chicago in 1973, ABTA was the first national non profit organization dedicated solely to brain tumors. Since then, the Des Plaines-based ABTA has been a consistent leader in brain tumor research, education and support. In 2008, ABTA provided more than 1.3 million resources and services to patients, families and health care professionals; and awarded more than $2.6 million to brain tumor research.  More information is available at the ABTA Web site at www.abta.org, or by calling 847-827-9910.
