Brain Tumor Cath: Glioblastoma GPS

According to KFSN-TV, a clinical trial is using a new technique to treat the recurrence of a glioblastoma.  Through using a catheter, researchers were able to distribute an infusion of radioactive isotope, Renium 186, directly into the tumor. This process allows the radiation to be delivered in higher doses by containing the radioactive particles inside the tumor. Researchers are hoping that this technique may be used in the future for initial treatments of brain tumors.
