ABTA supports expansion of brain tumor research funding opportunities on the Hill

At the request of the American Brain Tumor Association, Representative Mike Quigley of Illinois is circulating the letter below to all of his colleagues in the U.S. House of Representatives. This letter seeks to create new federal research opportunities for brain cancer. Specifically, it calls for the inclusion of brain cancer among those currently eligible for study in a program called the “Peer Reviewed Cancer Research Program” administered by the Department of Defense.

For this request to succeed, Congress must include the designation of brain cancer in the fiscal year 2017 Defense Appropriations Act.

We, therefore, encourage you to reach out today to your U.S. Representative and ask them to sign onto this very important letter!

The deadline for signing is March 15, so time is of the essence.

If you don’t know who represents you in the U.S. House of Representatives, please use this link:

Please tell your personal story of how brain cancer affects you personally – and directly ask them to sign this letter.

The ABTA is proud to support this initiative to expand research opportunities for brain cancer research. We also deeply appreciate Representative Quigley for taking the lead on this initiative.

Please email and let the ABTA know if you are able to support this important effort!
