Board of Directors Chair

Claudette Yasell

Claudette Yasell was elected chair of the American Brain Tumor Association Board of Directors in 2010, after serving for two years as vice chair. Yasell joined the ABTA Board of Directors in 2003, and later chaired the Governance and Marketing committees. 

A certified medical editor and writer and active member of the American Medical Writer’s Association, Yasell’s professional career reflects her passion for communication and medicine. 

Since joining Siemens Healthcare’s Molecular Imaging Division in 2004, Yasell has been responsible for positioning the young division in a growing and extremely competitive industry. Yasell is a contributing editor to several Siemens publications, and Clinical Editor of Molecular Imaging Insight, an industry publication that she helped to create.

Beyond her editorial responsibilities, Yasell is active in community outreach efforts that led to her being named Siemens Healthcare USA Volunteer of the Year in 2008.

Prior to joining Siemens, Yasell worked for several years at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons where she orchestrated national awareness campaigns on patient safety, bone health and orthopaedic research.

Yasell holds a Masters degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in French.  She resides in suburban Chicago with her daughter.
