Become a Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering your time for the American Brain Tumor Association! It is because of our valuable volunteers nationwide that the Association is able to work toward reaching our goal of effective treatment and elimination of this disease.

Below is a variety of suggested volunteer activities, followed by a form on which to indicate your interest.

Awareness Activities
Educating people about the many forms of brain tumors is another part of the ABTA mission. Throughout the year, friends of ABTA help patients and families learn about the educational and resource information ABTA can provide. Some volunteers distribute ABTA booklets and pamphlets to their local libraries, hospitals, clinics, doctors' offices, and other appropriate sites. Other volunteers agree to submit press releases to their community newspapers or web sites from which they receive news announcements.

Organize an ABTA Event
In addition to raising funds, events also create awareness about ABTA and the services we can provide. There are many types of events you can organize or participate in to benefit ABTA programs. Anything from a small activity to a large event creates awareness, raises funds, and makes new friends for ABTA. Click here for more information about organizing your own event.

Do you have a few hours a week for a good cause?
If you live in the Tampa, Florida area volunteers are needed in the ABTA Resource Center at Moffitt Hospital. You'll welcome visitors and help them access the wealth of information available in the Center. To learn more, please contact Lauren Bush, LCSW at Moffitt at 813-558-4710.
